The demo account is exempt from entitlement gates and limits, and retains its sample data. Do not use demo behavior to infer production Starter access. The real API enforces entitlements even if a client hides or bypasses a disabled dashboard control.

Quota accounting

Monthly decision usage is aggregated across sites owned by the tenant and resets on UTC calendar-month boundaries. A completed idempotent retry does not consume another decision. Monthly counts persist independently of raw event retention, so deleting or aging out events does not reset quota.

A quota exhaustion response is 429. Site capacity and unavailable features return 403. Batch requests can include quota or feature failures for individual items; inspect all results. On downgrade, access and limits apply to the new effective plan.

Pro trial & billing availability

Eligible tenants can start a one-time 14-day Pro trial in Billing. Trial access does not require a Stripe checkout configuration. Paid checkout remains disabled when platform payment credentials are absent. Trial expiry reverts feature access according to the tenant’s effective subscription.

Plan for expiring data

Retention policies remove older tenant records; queued and historical webhook deliveries are also subject to retention. Store the order-related decisions and audit information your own application needs in your own system. A webhook inbox is a delivery mechanism, not a promise of perpetual Bastion event storage.
